Beadle’s about!

September 24, 2009

Big news from ANNT Towers!

Kev Beadle is now confirmed as the guest DJ for November 20th!

For those that don’t know him(!), Kev Beadle’s bio reads like a journey through the halcyon years of the jazz scene in the UK from the early 80s to the early 90s, right through to the recent revival and rebirth through modern manifestations of nu-jazz, latin, broken beat and neo-soul. He is a DJ, a compiler, a producer, a label boss and a radio presenter

From early dj experiences working with fellow spinners Paul Oakenfold and Trevor Fung in the mid/late 80’s, and also hooking up with Gilles Peterson and playing alongside him at various residencies at The Wag, Special Branch, The Fez and the legendary Sunday nights at The Belvedere in Richmond, to helping set-up pirate jazz radio station K-Jazz with like-minded DJs Jez Nelson (now MD of Somethin Else), Chris Phillips (Kiss FM), Bob Jones and Chris Bangs, Kev has always been at the fore-front and a respected player of the alternative jazzy club scene.

His DJing musical style is always jazzy and soulful incorporating everything from latin, afro, funky, broken beats, hip-hop, house, drum and bass, and jazz, soul and funk from the last 30 years…. oh, and to top that, he is also the musical director who programs the DJ line for the Beat Bar up at one of the world’s most respected music events, Southport Weekender. He is responsible for selecting the ‘best of the best’ global DJ talent to entertain the clued up music crowd at the twice yearly event.

I’m excited. Very excited. Thanks Kev.
